Cooperation with Polish partners

The Polish Accreditation Committee supports legislative works on draft acts of law regulating the system of higher education by giving opinions of Presidium of PKA as well as participation of representatives of PKA in meetings of parliamentary committees and subcommittees. Moreover authorities of PKA participate in cyclical meetings with authorities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education dedicated to discussions on the actual and intended solutions.

The Polish Accreditation Committee cooperates also a. o. with Conference of Rectors of Polish Academic Schools, Conference of Rectors of Public Vocational Schools, Conference of Rectors of Polish Vocational Schools, Central Committee for Academic Degrees and Title, Students’ Parliament of Republic of Poland, National Representation of Doctoral Students, peer accreditation committees as well as it organizes meetings with representatives of higher education institutions and employers’ organisations. PKA takes also part in numerous scientific conferences.

International cooperation

The Polish Accreditation Committee takes active part in international initiatives related to area of higher education. The Committee was registered in European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR) in 2008. Since 2009 holds status of full member in European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), since 2006 PKA takes part in works of European Consortium for Accreditation (ECA) as well as Central and East European Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA) and International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

PKA signed also mutual agreements concerning recognition of accreditation decisions with NVAO (Netherlands) and ÖAR (Austria), cooperation with ANQA (Armenia) and SKVC (Lithuania) as well as NEAA (Bulgaria), ACSR (Slovakia) and AQAS (Germany).

Representatives of PKA take also part in numerous international conferences and seminars.

External review of PKA.
Along with regulations laid down in Status of the PKA an external review of the Committee is conducted every 5 years.
The first such assessment was performed by a team of international experts in 2008 and allowed PKA to be listed in European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR). As a result of subsequent reviews made at the turn of 2013 and 2014, as well as in 2018, full PKA membership in ENQA was confirmed.
